What is EFT

Emotional Freedom Techniques™, is a form of counselling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including; acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). It is best known through Gary Craig's EFT Handbook, published in the late 1990s, and related books and workshops by a variety of teachers. EFT and similar techniques are often discussed under the umbrella term "energy psychology".

Why use EFT

Having interviewed Jack Canfield (America’s #1 success coach, and best-selling author of the Chicken Soup for The Soul series) for Esquire magazine, James got one-on-one coaching with Jack, which led him to start reading some of Jack’s self-development books – namely, The Success Principles.

Jack also had written a book about EFT tapping for success. Curious, James investigated tapping, if America’s #1 success coach is writing a book on this thing, there must be something in it?


Jack’s EFT book inspired James to look at another book on EFT, Matrix Reimprinting Using EFT: Rewrite Your Past, Transform Your Future. This new book opened the door leading to the discovery of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).


James explored PTSD and started going for counselling, specifically for PTSD. After a few weeks of traditional talk-therapy, he didn't feel much benefit. James went on an EFT training course with the author of the second EFT book he read. Learning EFT on the course, and doing practical sessions with other participants, James was able to work through his own traumas and guide others through the process also. James was flabbergasted by the emotional transformation he had with EFT, that he didn’t feel the need for further counselling.

James went on to write his book on PTSD and trauma, How To Heal From Trauma And PTSD: Your Ultimate Guide To Becoming The Person You Want To Be, to share with the world his new discovery which had unshackled him from the emotional effects of complex PTSD. 

James got phenomenal results using EFT to resolve major aspects of PTSD. EFT tapping is a resource James frequently uses to help manage his mental health, on the occasions that things get on top of him.

EFT, has become more widely used since James was first introduced to, and became a practitioner of the modality in 2014.  EFT has been around for a long time, and with its foundations built around the human energy meridian system, the science is there to back it up.
