From the desk of Coach James

The one thing that will improve your life

I've recently moved into a new home, and I bought a new bed which is really comfortable, and I just could stay in bed all day long. In fact, this morning I went to get up and it was cold and raining out, the patter on the window made me feel all urgh, so I let my head drop and I slumped back into bed. The soft covers cocooning me as I closed my eyes and told myself, "Nope, you just can't lie here and do nothing, if you want to make your goals happen, you need to get out of this bed and make them happen."

There in that little scenario lies the Holy Grail to transform and improve your life. It eludes us all, yet it is so simple, that we look beyond it. It is you. You have to make it happen. You must decide if it is worth the effort or not.

The only person who can change your life is you; you have to do the work and make it happen. There is a quote that I often remind myself of when people do something I deem to be incorrect. The quote goes: “People would do better, if they knew better.”

We are doing the best we can with the information we have available to us in this moment, if we knew better, then it would make sense to implement the best ways of doing something we know of.

Personal growth is key to becoming the best version of yourself, and improving the chances of you getting what you want out of life. That’s why there is a section at the book store labelled self-help – or personal development as I prefer to refer to it.

The personal development industry is growing beyond belief, and it is expected to keep on growing. The sheer fact that the personal development industry is getting bigger, shows that people are becoming more aware that in an ever-changing world, they need to develop and change in order to survive.

The best way I have come across to update our programming is to get a coach, someone you work directly with to help you get to your desired outcome. There are also vast amounts of personal development books to learn from; I started with a book in 2012 that set me off on my personal development journey. That book lead me to other things such as live event conferences, and personal coaching.

With the industry growing, and so many options to choose from, I’d start with a coach, or finding someone you aspire to be like and finding out the steps they took to get to where they are today.

We are living in an age where information is at our fingertips, yet we don’t use it as efficiently as we could. There is no excuse to not be living the life you really want, you just need to learn how to get from where you are now, to where you want to be. That learning and growing starts with you, you need to dial into Google to find the information that will help you get to your desired outcome.

I will close with another quote that is befitting to what we have discussed here. “We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom.”
